Business House Squash is a Teams event designed for new, existing and those who "used to play" squash.
Teams of 4 players compete on a Thursday night in a non-competitive competition run over 8 weeks. Each player plays for 20 minutes non-stop using the American Scoring method. (1 point for every rally). The Team score is accumulated so less emphasis is placed on an individuals result - but more how the Team fared overall.
Once the 4 rounds of 20 minutes are completed then the fun starts. All Teams then retire to the bar for a well earned drink or two and then we bring out the deck of cards. The cards establish the overall winner for the night. Each Team cuts the deck of cards and if a Red Card is drawn the entire Team points for the evening are DOUBLED. If a Black Card is drawn then the entire Team points are HALVED. As you can see this makes for a lot of fun and friendly rivalry.
Each night there are sponsors prizes with a Grand Final Nite held for Round 6 with Dress Up Squash and awarding of the Trophies. In conjunction with our Pro Shop we usually have a racquet demo night where a full range of squash racquets are available to try out and purchase at the best price in town. This is a great opportunity to discuss the technical aspects of the different racquets with our professional and also play with them under no obligation.
