Dear Tauranga Squash Club Members
Well daylight saving is well and truly gone and the Squash season is up and running. Squash is the perfect game to play no matter what the weather. Our new managers Graeme & Jill Randolph have settled in well and the Club has a real buzz around the place. Have you seen our new pro-shop yet ? Open 6 days a week from 11.00am it has a full range of rackets, clothing, shoes and anything to do with the game of squash. Drinks and refreshments are also available along with a full restringing service. Sky TV is also now running downstairs as well as upstairs thanks to a generous TV donation from Yvonne Downs. Many members are utilising the expert coaching services of Graeme and all are finding this a huge improvement to their game. Talk to Graeme about how he can improve your game as well. As the season is progressing we are getting busier and busier and I strongly recommend that all players book ahead of time to save waiting. All that is needed is a quick call to the club and Jill will organise. If you call before 11.00am just leave a message and once again Jill will attend to - one of the many benefits of having a manager.
Upcoming Events
Composite Teams Event
This new competition starts this Friday night with teams of 5 playing each other. This is competitive squash and grading points will be at stake. A great way to get in some competitive games without the travel. Graeme may still be looking for a couple of players so give him a call and put your name down. He will probably also be looking for reserves.
Tauranga B Grade Tournament
Our first tournament for the year kicks off in a few weeks on 30th April. Entries are now being taken at the club. Remember to play tournaments you must be a full financial member and be on the grading list. If you would like to play and are not on the grading list then e mail me back and I will arrange.
Business House
The first Business House round for the year starts the week after the Tournament on Thursday 6th May. Format is similar to previous years with teams of 4 players competing over an 8 week competition. Great fun, spot prizes every night and the famous "Dress Up Finals Nite". Entries are limited to the first 20 teams. Enter early as this competition is extremely popular and places fill up real fast. You can request an entry form by return e-mail to the writer. I would prefer to comunicate by fax so a fax number would be useful. Entry forms will be available at the club.
